The RESA committee is pleased to announce three awards to recognize the individuals whose work exemplifies excellence in three categories. Physicians practicing in the USA, preferably of Pakistani descent are eligible for the award. Members of APPNA can nominate an individual using the online form below. They can choose which category to nominate for. One person can only nominate one person for each category. A nominating person cannot nominate the same person for more than one category. Nominating for more than one category by the same APPNA member will result in that nomination being thrown out. Solicitations for award nominations are not allowed. Any individual found soliciting nominations for an award will be disqualified from the award.
1. Research
Nominees must demonstrate focused experience in research in their field of interest and demonstrate dedication, integrity, excellence, originality and perseverance. The nominator must explain how the nominee’s work fulfills the criteria of this award.
2. Education
This award is for excellence in education. The award is for physicians who have not only taught students, residents and fellows, but also mentored them and groomed them, so as to help them become a better human being, better able to take care of the sick and needy. The nominator must explain how the nominee fulfills the criteria for the award.
3. Community Affairs
This award is for excellence and dedication to community service including but not limited to community awareness, participation in free clinics, political activism for the rights and wellbeing of Americans and especially Pakistani-Americans. The nominator should explain how the nominee’s work fulfills the criteria if the award.
