APPNA Medical Corps completed it’s 7th medical mission to Coban, Guatemala from January 18-25th, 2020.
Team:
The team comprised of Dr. Afzal Arain from California, Dr. Saeed Irfan and his son, Shah Zaman Saeed, a Premed student from Virginia and Dr. Mobeena Arif from Canada.
They were accompanied by volunteers Julie O Kane and Mariza Calderon. All volunteers covered their own expanses and all services were rendered free of charge.

Medial Services:
We saw over 700 children and adults with a variety of complaints and health issues ranging from headaches, abdominal pain from gastritis, UTI. We made several referrals for follow up for ultrasound, more in-depth eye exams, possible surgical intervention for significant hernia, Thyroid node and one child for cardiac assessment.
Free Medications and Eyeglasses:
Vitamins are most in demand along with allergy related issues, cough and cold symptoms.
Great team and team work. I appreciate each and everyone for making a difference in the lives of those that have so little.
